Take a closer look at our game changing new G6 collection. Ten men’s chronograph watches and ten women’s chronograph watches, clashing colour and high-spec functionality. This is a new generation of watch design for Newgate. Each colourful timepiece has been designed with interchangeable watch straps, for two different dress styles; this is a first for Newgate. Every G6 watch come with a handcrafted black Italian leather strap and a lightweight colourful canvas strap to choose from. Giving you two watches in one!

Women’s G6S has a slimmer 18mm strap

Designed in our British studios by Newgate founder and head designer, Jim Read. The new G6 watch draw inspiration from the Morse code call sign (G6US) used by pioneering MI5 radio engineer Eddie Read. An early adopter of radio technology during his time as a communications expert in the British secret service, Eddie is Jim’s late grandfather. Eddie had a big influence on Jim’s fascination with time and moving-part design, so Jim wanted to honour Eddie with this new collection. The G6’s interchangeable straps have a quick swap mechanism, making it easy for you to change between a classic black leather strap watch or a more casual, stylish, bright canvas strap watch.

Talking about the new collection Jim explains; “This range is all about colour, think Steve McQueen stripes and motor racing decals, brought bang up-to-date with luxe accents. High performance materials have been fused with carefully considered design to create an ultra-modern timepiece collection. My grandfather’s love for technological gadgetry had such a big influence on my passion for product design, I really wanted to bring a piece of him into this collection. Designing the range with changeable straps was something I’ve wanted to do for a while. I like the fact that with the G6 watch you can change up your style, depending on what look you’re aiming for; formal or informal, classic or contemporary. The choice is yours!”
